*Our department would probably rate this website as our best resource.
We have used it the last few years to learn all the software for all of the ICT courses we teach. There are thousands of online training videos and we use the premium subscription because it provides you with exercise files to practice along with the video. Definitely easier than using how-to books to learn Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Photography, Final Cut, etc. |

*This is the top online resource I've found in the past year and have used this site to create various websites, including this EBIT website.
It is free (although the paid version has extra perks, $70 for two years) and this is about as easy as it gets - everything is drag and drop, tons of templates (that can be HTML/CSS customized for the 'power users'), tons of features, easy to edit, publish, interactivity and more than I can write here. |

*Although you'll need to create a separate account for the education side of Weebly, it's well worth it. Recently I had my Visions and Ventures students create their own websites for their final business ventures they operated in school. The education account allows you to create up to 40 user IDs and passwords (on the free version). The only drawback is the students can only publish up to five pages each (but that was more than enough for what we used it for).

*This resource is similar to Weebly but is Flash based.
Wix allows users to create great looking websites with a lot of customizable templates, drag and drop features and is quite user friendly. I am currently planning on exploring Wix in greater depth and using this resource for a project in my upcoming Marketing Practicum course. |

*This free virtual stock market game is a great resource for anyone interested in learning more about the stock market. The site simulates actual activity of stocks on the stock market, company logos and information is used, teachers can access lesson plans or simply create a class group for student competition. We've used it in Economics and Business Club.

*I've been using this website for several years for students to conduct market research in Visions and Ventures and Marketing. The website allows users to create surveys, collect data using a weblink or embed on a webpage and analyze the data in bar graphs. The free version allows you to create a survey upt to 10 questions and capable of receiving over 100 responses (more than enough for the projects I used this resource for).

*This is a great online game (free to register) for teaching financial literacy. Teachers can set up classes with student accounts, track student progress, unlock all units or only those you want to select - I had my students complete the units on Credit Cards, Loans and Mutual Funds. This website can be used in a variety of courses. Below is the teacher guide for download:

*Great for creating a word splash or "word cloud" as the site calls it. If you copy and paste text (an entire news article for instance) the word cloud will be created and the more often a word is used - the larger it appears in the word cloud.

*Many business and tech related (as well as many other subject areas) documentaries that can be streamed online from this site (some examples; The Corporation, Pepsi vs. Coke: The Ice Cold Wars, Supermarket Secrets, The Cost of a Coke, Enron, Wal-Mart, The Greed Game, The Secret History of the Credit Card, and there are quite a few that could be used for law and economics courses).

*Do you want to have your students create a timeline? They can use this resource to make their timelines interactive - adding timeline titles, dates, text and images. As you hover over each dot on your timeline, a word bubble shows up, allowing you to expand it to preview all the information for that date. I recently used this in Broadcast Media; I had students create a timeline of the history of broadcast radio and television, for their reference, I gave them this link to the history of broadcasting on the CBC.

*If you haven't tried this site yet, it's pretty interesting. It's similar to Wikipedia but your search results are shown in a slideshow presentation. There's an app for it as well and with Siri for the iPhone, it seems we're getting closer to meeting Hal someday soon (from 2001: A Space Odyssey).
